To kick us off with some voice testing, here's a the meme for all those gen texts, phone calls, voicemails, pictures of your cats, and whatever else your little heart can come up with, because who doesn't like a little old fashioned friendly texting. Or enemy texting, if that's more your bag.

[ Ugh, she can imagine the face he's making, too. Is he perhaps also in denial? She wonders. Declaring Okakou beautiful and then sweating buckets when she put the more serious question to him... it seems like it. Feels like it. Should she level with him? No, not yet. He'll stick his head in the ground for sure, but if things keep up like this, he'll do it, anyway, and she'll have to take a conciliatory something-or-other back to the tea house, which means she'll be out even later with a hangover waiting for a store to open or she'll have to get a room somewhere or climb in through the window.

She'll probably just climb in through the window. She's not about to be defeated by Sukuna "defeated by a gust of wind" Hikona, not today! Tonight.

So, Setsura does what any partially intoxicated wing woman would do in this sot of situation. She sends Sukuna a picture of Okakou, who is presently disheveled and quite flushed against the hotel bed in little more than her slip. ]

[He got innocuous picture messages from Setsura all the time, so he was expecting a cute selfie with her rosy cheeked and beaming, but what he got was-

Quickly he slammed his phone down on the counter screen down as if that would delete the image that was now burned onto the back of his eyelids. What had been seen could not be unseen, even if he dug the heels of his palms into his eyes as if he could dig them out and the sight of Okakou disheveled on a hotel bed in almost nothing. No warm blooded person attracted to the female form could resist a sight, so it wasn't like it was indicative of him, personally. Right? Right?!

What had he done to deserve this sort of cruelty? Hadn't he been a good person?!]

[ Maybe she should text Kouta to make sure he'll be available to let her in through the window, too. She can't imagine he wouldn't be so soon after returning to her and -- ah, there's a nice thought. Maybe she can get in some cuddles, too. ]

[He trusted Setsura implicitly with his life, with the tea house which was like his own child, and in nearly every matter big or small. But this was making him uneasy. What was the goal of this?]

[ Damn.

It isn't so much that he caught her as he's compromising her plan to triple check that she's in the right conversation, then pass her phone to Okakou so she can see for herself just what sort of regard Sukuna has for her. Now things are going to be tricky. Well, trickier given her delayed response in figuring things due to the alcohol's effect, but it's manageable. She can work this way, with whatever he's about to give her, and she's got what she thinks is a pretty good guess about it. Sukuna did break his phone, after all, and he's asking such a cautious question. That's an awful lot of lead up to a simple "pass" when he doesn't know what she knows. She's normally a good judge about these sorts of things given her perception, too.

She strums her nails absentmindedly against the bottle balanced atop her lap. Her word is her bond and she doesn't betray it. Depending on what he gives her, she can adapt. They are gods, after all. It isn't as though they're on a mortal's time limit and she knows Sukuna well enough to know he hasn't been having any sort of thoughts about getting hitched to anyone. ]

No. Now are you going to answer me or aren't you?

[Okay so there wasn't anything to lose in answering this question, and while he wasn't sure why it was posed, he trusted Setsura. But then it seemed like she was giving him an out so-]

[ Have another picture. This time, Okakou is laying in the bed, face flushed, with a less than professional expression upon her face. This is what your damned dirty abstinence gets you, you coward. She'll wait for him to get another phone. ]

[He hoped that Setsura could hear the sound of him screaming like he was being murdered. When Kouta poked his head in to see what the commotion was about, he shoved the phone at him.

Give Kouta about fifteen minutes to calm Sukuna down so he didn't break another phone, have some tea, and you know what, forget the tea and go straight to sake.]

[ She laughs. ]

You haven't begun to see me play dirty. Ask Kou-kun if you don't believe me and quit trying to change the subject. I can do this all night. Can you say the same?

[Unfortunately this wasn't a bluff. Setsura had taken over most of the duties for the tea house solely because she was very good at multi-tasking, persistent, and never lost sight of her goals. It was probably why she had risen so highly in the ranks of the Hand.

There was also Oka-chan's chastity and reputation to think about. It wouldn't look good for either of them if he had photos like that on his phone, and with how gods were, it would look worse for her.

Sukuna downed a few more drinks moodily as Kouta also confirmed this, before finally texting back feeling as if his thumbs were bleeding the whole time.]

smash. but this better be the last i hear about any of this! delete those pictures!

[ It's a wicked smile that spreads across Setsura's face. Of course she's right. She had known she was right from the very beginning, but there's something very satisfying about seeing those five letters on her screen justthe same. It's a declaration of a victory well-earned as far as she's concerned and she's fond of the taste. Always has been. Sukuna Hikona isn't the first god she's defeated and he won't be the last especially insofar as these matters are concerned. ]

Now, was that so bad?

[ She snorts softly. It's pretty cute he thinks he can tell her to delete those pictures after all this, too. ]

[Because it was the same level right? One second in command was about equal to a successor.]

Give me a minute to text Kou-kun that you're sending me unsolicited pics of another man. I'm sure he'll be appreciative. I deleted my cache, you know.

[ After Kouta had returned to her, after she'd found herself sitting at their table thinking about things. About him, them. That she didn't want to share him with anyone, not when she could finally have him and him her and -- well, the decision had made itself ultimately. It's an adjustment, to be sure, but Kouta, he's more than worth it and the thought sees her smiling into the bottle as she tosses it back again. Sees her heart pounding in her chest as red rushes to reclaim her cheeks now.

Sukuna really knows how to brew. ]

[All of Setsura's dragging aside, Sukuna was happy for her and Kouta. It had been a long time coming and he was glad that they had a chance now to be together. It was a little inspiring in a way, and Sukuna could only hope that one day he was half as lucky as the both of them.]

i know. you're serious about this one, aren't you?

[As if he didn't know and wasn't their number one stan.]

No doubt. I am absolutely serious about Kouta.

[ From the top of her head to the tips of her toes, even, and she knows Sukuna knows it. If anyone does, it's him. He hadn't been there from the very beginning, but he'd been there each and every time Kouta and Akemi had visited her after she'd moved to Tokyo with Kureno to guard him. He'd been there when they'd skip to run missions in the city and weathered the larger steps with her. Takuma, Kouta's wedding to Yui, Akemi to Wakahisa, and everything that had come after that. Yes, Sukuna had weathered it all with her and she with him every time that Muchi had come around. Comes around. In that way, theirs is a bond forged in mutual understanding despite some dimensions of difference. Sukuna, at least, had been able to touch Muchi, but Setsura isn't sure if that makes it better or worse for him.

She puts the bottle to her lips again. She wants Sukuna to experience the sort of happiness that swells in her chest every time she thinks of Kouta without the jealousy, the pain, the heartache that follows him regarding Muchi. If he really thinks as much about Okakou, then maybe... ]

[Considering how long overdue this all seemed, Sukuna was still glad nonetheless that it had happened. Whatever Muchi’s reasoning, Sukuna was grateful to him for bringing Kouta back to Setsura with memories and mind intact. Reincarnation was always a tricky roll of the dice, and even if his essence was the same, so many other things could have changed to make him unrecognizable. And what would have happened if the same thing had happened this time around? What if Kouta had been reborn a human and had fallen in love with someone else? Would Setsura be able to handle that heartbreak again? Sukuna hadn’t been looking forward to testing it. So he was ecstatic beyond words that this was the outcome, that one of his most cherished people was able to finally find happiness.]
