general texting meme
To kick us off with some voice testing, here's a the meme for all those gen texts, phone calls, voicemails, pictures of your cats, and whatever else your little heart can come up with, because who doesn't like a little old fashioned friendly texting. Or enemy texting, if that's more your bag.
instructions: What it says on the tin! Leave a comment with your character, any preferences, a start, absolutely nothing, or whatever you want. Run around and reply to others. Lather, rinse, repeat.

5. let's spare his future daughter the mess ok
[ Hold the phone. ]
Do gods even have food allergens?
shield her she is still pure
and ah... i'm sure a few do. i think it's cropping up among newer gods mostly since they have more mixed heritages that sometimes don't play well together.
is she really after these repeated toilet monster debacles
[ She wouldn't have guessed a lot of things that she's discovering these days and it's so surreal. ]
I dont think I have any food allergens that i know of.Oh! What about a seafood curry Sukuna-san? How does that sound?
she is unless her kink is killing things in toilets
it sounds delicious! do you need help? it could be fun to make together!
1/2 - this isn't gintama but also no? she's pure remember
Shshould I be more careful about the sorts of offerings i make? I wouldnt want to offer a god something they're allergic to. Can gods get sick?what if they got sick??
2/2
That does sound like fun. I havent made a seafood curry before either so if you have maybe between the two of us we can make it just right.
[ And... that's okay, isn't it? She hasn't really cooked with anyone since her grandmother passed away and it wouldn't be the same, but she can't imagine her grandmother would warn her away from cooking with someone. In fact, she can practically hear words of encouragement in her ears. It should be fine, right? If it's Sukuna-san... ]

gods can get sick but i doubt it's ever happened from a pure hearted offering from someone like yourself maren-chan! and most gods have retainers who know their diets and can sort them according to preference so you don't have to worry.
and yes i've made it before! it's a lot of fun but involves a lot of prep work. are you sure you're ready for that much responsibility?
[Mostly he's teasing since she's already proven herself to be quite capable despite her young age.]
no subject
[ Ah -- ]
I'll do my very best not to let Sukuna-san down!
to action???
[Also she's like a mini-Okakou it's too adorable for words.]
lol you don't have to be so formal! i'll be down in five minutes! are you at the tea house?
TO ACTION!!!!
[ True to her word, Maren is standing in the kitchen with one of her growing number of color coded notepads out with a pen in hand taking inventory of what all there is to work with not just for today, but in the future. She's pretty focused save for when her phone beeps, at which point she places the pen in her ear and picks it up to respond promptly. Well, as promptly as she can manage. She's still getting to this whole phone thing
and she's like eighty in spirit or something. ]SO CUTE
He had almost forgotten why he had come down to the kitchen in the first place when he spotted Maren-chan and it all came rushing back to him. Beaming, he rested his back against one of the counters, clearing his throat to get her attention.]
You're so hard working Maren-chan! What are all the notepads for for?
NO U
O-organization, really! This one -- [ she points at the pad in hand with her pen ] -- is for shopping lists in particular. The gold one is for finances. The purple one is for notes about... things.
[ Supernatural things. She might be laughing a little nervously. He really surprised her! ]
no subject
He took a few steps forward to peer curiously over her shoulder, amused despite himself.]
Finances? For what? Setsura is paying you well right?
[Mostly he was teasing.]
no subject
Yes, she is! V-very well!
[ Perhaps a bit too well if her research was any indication, but arguing with that woman was... well, it hadn't been much of an argument, if Maren were to be honest. ]
I still have expenses to be mindful of. It's important to keep track of these sorts of things and there's taxes, too!

[Sukuna frowned slightly, tipping his head to the side in consideration. Maren-chan didn't strike him as the sort of girl who would take advantage of that sort of offer, and she definitely was hardworking. Besides, she had her hands full with both him and Kaz-chan, so if anything, she was deserving of a cushy raise.
Making a mental note to talk to Setsura about it later, instead he started clearing space off of the counter, ducking into the fridge to check their supplies.]
Anyway enough about that boring stuff! Let's cook Maren-chan! I'm hungry!

What ingredients do we need for this sort of thing, Sukuna-san?
no subject
[His mouth was already watering slightly at the thought, and he turned back to look at Maren in amusement. She seemed so serious and studious with that notepad of hers, and he'd have to be careful to give proper and exact measurements instead of winging it like he usually did.]
Either way we'll need garlic, butter, and some sake.
no subject
[ Shrimp, scallops, garlic, butter, sake -- the flavor profile already sounds fantastic by Maren's reckoning and she doesn't need to look at her list twice to know that they definitely have those things. Maybe a trip out won't be necessary? ]
What are you thinking for measurements?
[ Her own brain is already jumping to answer as much. Depending on the serving number and everyone's appetites -- ah, still, she keeps her ears open, listening intently to Sukuna all the while. She hasn't cooked with him before, so she's not entirely sure how he does thing. It's best to listen and pay careful attention to how he does things. That sort of information is invaluable if Miss Yamaguchi is going to task her with assisting with his meals and schedule regularly. ]

[He hadn't asked earlier, and he'd have to keep it in mind if they were going to continue cooking together. He had always preferred having someone in the kitchen to help him out, or get underfoot. Or maybe he had just gotten used to it with the tea house and his own estate before that. It'd been a long time since he'd ever been truly alone.
As for her question... He tipped his head to the side, eyes closed in concentration, arms crossed over his chest.]
There's about ten people working tonight right? Maybe we should make twenty portions so everyone can eat and take some home if they like.
[And if they didn't want any, well, more for them.]

Beef udon!
[ There's nothing better in Maren's opinion than beef udon shared with friends and family. That enthusiasm doesn't quite fade as she observes him, listening intently, and smiles at his logic. It's very, very familiar. ]
Did you account for the strays? Er, the extras who always show up?
no subject
[It really was cute how excited she seemed to be about beef udon, and it wasn't like it was a difficult dish to make.
He paused at her point, grin brightening. The number tended to fluctuate day to day, and it was difficult to keep track if he hadn't worked the floor that day.]
I don't think I did! How many are we at today?
no subject
[ Maren whips her head to look at Sukuna properly, searching his expression in that moment. He didn't strike her as the sort of person to tease about something like that. When he asks about the number of strays, though, she closes her eyes for a brief second in consideration, running through her memory of the day in triple time. ]
Three. Four would be more accurate, I think, judging by what I heard earlier, so twenty-eight portions? Is that okay?
no subject
[Which usually went in one ear and out the other because it's not like he needed food, like a mortal might, but it was a nice way to feel revitalized and he did enjoy the act of eating. And drinking. But that would have to come later.
He hummed thoughtfully at the amount of portions they'd have to make, starting to pull out the fridge items.]
That's fine! Maybe we should make it thirty just to be even? I swear whenever it's dinner time people will conveniently come to visit...
[Not that Sukuna was complaining in the least, but it was awfully suspicious.]
Do you want to cut up the meat or do you prefer to start the base for the sauce?
no subject
That question of his grounds her, but she doesn't quite lower her hand or put away her smile. ]
I would like to start with the meat, I think. You have more experience making this sauce than I do, so I'd like to watch if you don't mind.
no subject
That sounds fine. Would it help you if I told you what I was doing as well?
[It would almost be like being on a cooking show...]
