CHARACTER NAME: Kokei
AGE: Old... very old. Elemental-type spirit who's existed as a figment of consciousness ever since praying for rain in Japan was a thing.
APPEARANCE: SEE MY SINGULAR ICON. But a short, compact human who looks to be in his teens, with golden-brown eyes and white, fluffy hair. He looks sad 80% of the time.
SPECIES: Spirit.
OCCUPATION: None so far?? Hire him for scaring off teens.
PERSONALITY:
- He makes rain, but he doesn't like rain. Long-term sadness and indifference ensues.
- Very "get off my lawn" to people he doesn't know
- He's just essentially a grandpa
HISTORY: Existing for so long just makes a guy tired! He's had lovers and friends, some of whom are still alive, but WHO CARES anymore!!! (This is vague and past relations to handwave are welcome.)
ABILITIES: Can create ranging from sprinkles to ranging monsoons. He also smells like rain.
WANTED CR: Lovely friends who can make him walk outside, people to grump at, people who can grump back! Maybe an employer?
NOTES: He is small enough to be picked up.

Does he want to work or does he just want to sit in the garden in the back of the tea house and make sure all the plants get enough range?

Also Sukuna is the type to be a teasing little shit so most likely Kokei will grump at him?? Sukuna was also the god of maritime trade + hot springs at one point so their paths most likely would have crossed a lot.

He can hang out there and keep everything extremely moist and healthy! Just don't make him annoyed or he's going to cause the wood to rot!

Kokei will just dead-eye in response to being teased tbh. But yeah maritime trade? vs huge sea storms?? He would be a cute ghost in the hot springs but maybe I am just affected by the recent Gintama chapter I read hmmm.

Well that is going to be hard because Kokei is such a grouch but fine they will do their best and probably give him little offerings. What would he like?

Okakou used to be the goddess of an old podunk little village that got abandoned and dammed up into a lake! They could have met during her early years and struck up a friendship that persisted even after she lost her worshippers/started to fade. She’s seemingly very serious but she’s extremely soft and doting when it comes to the people important to her.

That's cute!!! Yes I would love for them to have known each other, especially since Kokei would probably have stayed in certain regions for long periods of time. He cares... in his own way.

His presence probably helped keep her alive over those long and lonely years too, so now that she's Sukuna's successor she'll definitely try super hard to keep in touch with him.

Yes that sounds good! Perhaps she could have reached out to him about coming into the city once she began to settle in? He would act grudging but he's not fully against technology or visiting more urban areas haha.

She definitely would! Also she'd load him up with blessings every opportunity she could, now that she has the power to.

Okay that's very cute!! He'll come by and enjoy that and he'll be a ~ real friend and be very realistic everything in life, which might be helpful, or not helpful depending.

Maren here is actual Light/Water in elemental typology and she's A+++ with old people since she was raised by her grandma and also hung out with her and her shogi buddies a lot (all my pus have info pages in their journals btw), so I can provide one understanding teen who may also be great for supernatural-human, old-young sensibilities contrast and maybe take his grumping in stride? She's a shy, nervous type, so it depends on the grump. She might make him offerings, though, gomen and secretly think his fluffy hair is really cute. Be water buddies??? Make him cute bracelets and try to cheer him up.

Look, if you can't tell, this girl is basically my Super Cute option and I will milk her for all it's worth, TK.

I feel like they'd look SUPER CUTE HANGING OUT just because they look a similar age but Kokei is So Grumpy. They can do the old people things Maren is used to! Unfortunately he does cause a lot of rain just by existing so she'll have to carry an umbrella most of the time...

They definitely would. His grump might actually contribute to the cute tbh? Depending on the eye of the beholder. Also all I read just now was we can have "Caught in the Rain" memes whenever we want and I've got an excuse for Maren to collect cute umbrellas? I AM ALL FOR THIS.

Okay yeah that sums up Kokei's character, just with 300x more grumpiness than cuteness, emotionally speaking.

I need these two to interact? Sets is half human, half night sparrow youkai, basically conditionally immortal, and she's at the turn of her first human lifetime with a lot of grief ~~until her husbando and waifu show back up unexpectedly~~. Contrast much??? Unlikely to be afeared of grumping grandpa. She puts their godly fuckboi who's like how many times older than her in a corner sometime. I also can't promise she wouldn't basically try to adopt Kokei and feed him and make him walk outside???

I am HERE for that. Kokei has been over that hill for a long time, but he's also never been human so I feel like he'd be... maybe helpful, maybe not? But more importantly they could have fun!! He's also actually an excellent cook, just not good at going out for groceries. Together they could be the perfect team.

Oh my god yes, please??? I feel like there will be some things they just click in understand with and others where they're like que? Fortunately Sets has that weird in between perspective and her human perspective is a bit weird due to mercenary upbringing as opposed to civilian 9-5, so honestly, it should be a blast and/or potentially hilarious and/or we might end up crying sometime maybe. But look, another capable hand in the kitchen? Yes, please. Teamwork! Also they can hang out on the grounds together and enjoy nature.

Altho I gotta ask, does he have archaic grandpa sensibilities on touch? Because if he lets her get away with it, she'll nap and drape on him.

Okay good I feel like a lot of characters in this are a mess... so together they'll keep things functioning. Maybe.

And yes! He's probably fond of sitting on the floor or in various comfortable locations, and though he'll grumble he won't stop friends from sitting on/near him!

I think Kokei could be someone who's hung around the teahouse a decent amount, so perhaps they would already know each other?

Look, THM definitely needs more orderly/organized adults, so yes. Just yes. Let her gently assign Maren and Kokei together to join her to do food and other gently responsible things for their chaotic work family.

Oh, definitely! Sets has been at the teahouse since like... let me check the timeline. 1969? So fifty years. We def have a great opportunity for pre-existing CR here.

Hello this is Mimi again my other person so far is this rich spoiled hellion who is basically female Bakugo and she will absolutely pick up Kokei and cackle madly as he makes it rain.
