I'm gonna reply with each character to keep this organized, so bear with me, friend.

I love everything you have so far honestly and I don't think it's at all too little. It sounds perfect for his character and I am here 110% for tragic backstories and revenge arcs. Get it, kitty. I don't really have anything to add???

Starting with this pup, Maren is socially awkward with people but probably does pretty well for animals because lbr, animals are generally easier. She's a soft if nervous girl and big on cleaning, so she'd probably clean up after him, brush him if he lets her, and she would definitely, definitely appreciate him and let him sleep on her. She's the sort of human who knows catte is gonna cat, so they may get along well???

Until he shifts into a human, at which point she'll probably die because he's hot and she notices, which could be confusing for him possibly? I'm here for catte, let's talk shop.

He'd probably pick up a soft spot, tbh because he is easier than he probably pretends to be.

Also I am all here for people being weird about suddenly-human cat, because honestly he's probably just getting used to that bit of it, and also he probably weirds people out on purpose sometimes- how maliciously probably depends on reaction and whether or not he has a soft spot. In this case, probably it's just occasionally funny to see her flustered.

Look, Maren is prime real estate for flustering and freaking out since she's 1) a teenaged girl, and 2) new to the whole preternatural thing and often unsure how to navigate it. Does she... does she... make catte offerings and treat him with the utmost respect? Does she still call him Haiiro-chan even when he's in humanoid form? How do???
