[Even though Kouta had been settled in Tokyo for more than half of his life, it didn't help that his formative years had been spent in near constant travel, and some days he missed it. Most of his territory was confined to places around the Hidden Moon, both as a retainer and an employee of the establishment, and while he didn't guard it rabidly, he did like to keep an eye on things in the area for potential threats. And for potential places to find a present for Setsura's upcoming birthday.

So when she had off-handedly mentioned the Black Cat Cafe, he had decided to check it out more thoroughly. He'd done a few deliveries to the place, so he could pick out the sleepy looking owner, but he'd never stopped in for long.]

Afternoon.

[He inclined his head as he sat down, taking in everything.]

I'm sure you got your fair share of regulars, but I was hoping I could question you about one in particular.

[He remembered Kouta, it wasn't difficult as he was one of the rare folk of Japan who managed to make it to and over 6 feet tall. Matthias felt he didn't count as he wasn't Japanese. Still, the young man was always cordial even if he didn't stay in the store long after delivering goods.

He was surprised, however, when here was no delivery and instead he was actually sitting down at front. Matthias nodded in greeting and pulled down his cat ear headphones.]

That would depend on the regular. Some of them like to keep to themselves.

[He gestured to the mugs behind him.]

Tea? Coffee?

Tea, please.

[It wasn't exactly necessary to eat or drink, but Kouta still enjoyed the ceremony of it all the same. And he was pleased to note that as a spirit he could still taste things, otherwise eternity would be a long time indeed.

He leaned up against the counter, crossing his arms onto it casually.]

Setsura, tiny little thing that works over at the Hidden Moon. She's mentioned this place often so I thought I'd check it out.

Any particular blend?

[Matthias had several blends, after all. Most named with puns, but also some that were not puns and normal names such as green or black, rooibos, etc. so it was a matter of who wanted what. This man wasn't exactly a regular in his establishment.]

Ah, yes, Setsuicchi. What would you like to know?

Just some regular green tea is fine. Or if you have a special you'd recommend.

[Kouta wasn't exactly a highbrow kind of guy, and when he scanned the shelves, he figured it would be quicker to go with something simple.

As for what he'd like to know-]

She comes in regularly right? Does she have anything she typically gets when here? Her birthday is coming up soon, so I thought I'd surprise her.

[ It wasn’t that he didn’t recommend the Special-tea blend, but it was always unpredictable that he’d normally leave it up to the customers to say yes or no. So, green tea it was. As he went about preparing it, he hummed in thought. ]

There’s an almond flavor she likes under my Nut-tea line but also apple cinnamon.

[ He pointed to the chalkboard and under Fru-tea was apple cinnamon and under Nut-tea was almond. ]

I add a little more to the flavors, of course, but it’s much too long to fit. Heheh!
